A rough test at home
Calibrate the screen with a bank card, then read the whole E chart from 2.5 metres.
Guide
The screen eye chart computes the physical height of the E optotypes from the one-arcminute principle, offers 14 rows from 4.0 to 5.3 and supports a random-direction test. A browser does not know the real size of the screen, so you have to calibrate first by comparing an 85.6 mm bank card or by entering the screen's diagonal in inches to estimate pixels per millimetre.

Row 5.0 is computed from the standard viewing-angle relationship, and changing the distance rescales the E's pixel size on screen proportionally; when a row works out smaller than about 3 px the page warns that the screen's precision is insufficient.
Calibrate the screen with a bank card, then read the whole E chart from 2.5 metres.
Explain how the one-arcminute principle and the logarithmic rows convert into physical sizes.
The opening direction of each E is generated at random, so a row cannot be guessed from memory.
Because CSS pixels are not reliable physical millimetres, and without calibration the real viewing angle of the E is wrong.
Calibration parameters are stored in the current browser locally and are never uploaded. A vision result here is only indicative; for any vision problem, have a professional eye examination or refraction test.

Standard logarithmic tumbling-E chart: calibrate your screen, test random directions, get a LogMAR reference
Your screen's real size is needed so the E optotype is displayed at the correct millimetre size
Hold a bank card or ID card against the screen and drag the slider until the rectangle below is as wide as the card (85.6 mm).
Finish the screen calibration above first, so the E optotype is shown at its real size in millimetres
This tool converts the E optotype size using the standard logarithmic visual acuity chart (the 5.0 row strokes subtend 1 arc minute), Not a medical diagnosis. The result is for reference only. A proper test needs standard chart illumination and a 5 m distance, so rely on an optometric examination. When testing, cover one eye, keep to the selected distance, and use good lighting with no screen zoom.
